Dennis M. Peffley, PhD, JD
President, Scientific Director

Dr. Peffley provides strategic direction in the assessment of relevant new technologies and procedures.  He is responsible for business development, identifying early detection and disease prevention technologies, as well as establishing relationships with research groups, biotechnology companies and academic institutions.  He is also involved in the development of intellectual property and licensing patented technology created by Kronos to strategic partners.  His current research interests include isoprenoid-mediated regulation of mTOR, chemoprevention of cancer, and computational modeling of protein networks in tumor cells.

 

Prior to joining Kronos, Dr. Peffley was a professor in the Department of Medical Laboratory and Radiation Sciences at Old Dominion University where he also served as Director of the Genomics and Proteomics Diagnostic Center and Co-director of the Molecular Diagnostics Certificate Program.   He has been the principal investigator on multiple grants funded by the National Cancer Institute, the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, and American Heart Association.  Dr. Peffley has taught medical pharmacology at the University of Tennessee Memphis Health Science Center and the Roslyn Franklin University of Health Sciences/The Chicago Medical School.

Dr. Peffley attended the Pennsylvania State University where he received a PhD degree in Genetics.  He also received a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law.  Dr. Peffley is a member of the Missouri Bar, the District of Columbia Bar and the American Bar Association

Vice President, Research and Development
 
Dr. Yali Su is Vice President of Research and Development of Kronos Science. She joined KSL in March 2004 and is responsible for overseeing, directing, and contributing to all scientific and technical activities. She is also responsible for helping design and refine clinical studies, directing specialized assay development and testing services for pharmaceutical, biotechnology and clinical research clients.
 
Prior to joining KS, Dr. Su was an adjunct professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Arizona State University while she worked as a Senior Scientist at Environmental Molecular Science Laboratory in Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). She was the principle investigator and program manager for several million dollar projects involving multiple institutions. She has given numerous presentations at national and international scientific meetings. She has authored over 50 publications in peer reviewed scientific journals. She is an active member of the Society for Free Radical Biology and Medicine and the Women in Science Committee of SFRBM.

Dr. Su attended the University of Notre Dame and received her PhD degree in Physical Chemistry in Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. She also holds an MS degree in Radiation Chemistry/Life Science and BS degree in Chemistry from Peking University. 

Susan Kaib, MD, FAAFP
Medical Director

Dr. Kaib has been with Kronos companies for nine years. After working as a physician at Kronos Optimal Health Centre for 6 years, Dr. Kaib transitioned into her role as medical director for Kronos Optimal Health Company in 2007 and Kronos Science in 2008. She is the physician for patients involved in the Kronos Longitudinal Aging Program at Kronos Science and principle investigator for many internal and external research projects. 

Dr. Kaib is a board-certified family physician and previously worked in private practice. She completed her residency at Phoenix Baptist Hospital and earned her medical degree from the University of Arizona, Tucson. She graduated cum laude from Arizona State University, Tempe, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. Prior to becoming a physician, Dr. Kaib spent four years working as a neonatal chemist at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Phoenix, Arizona.  Dr. Kaib is a member of the Arizona Academy of Family Physicians and the Arizona Medical Association. 

Dr. Kaib is also a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in collaboration with Arizona State University at their Phoenix campus.  As the assistant director of Doctoring Program, she instructs the first and second year medical students how to conduct a history, physical exam, determine a differential diagnosis and present their findings.

 

Hanak.JPGDavid L. Hanak, MBA
Director, Business Development
 
Mr. Hanak is responsible for promoting the services and capabilities of Kronos Science and developing business relationships and collaborations with clinical research organizations, pharmaceutical, medical device and biotechnology firms; along with governmental and accademic institutions.
Mr. Hanak has over twenty-nine years of business experience in the medical and biotechnology industry. During this time, he has focused on the medical specialties of cardiology, neurology, urology, ophthalmology, oncology and pulmonology. His career includes working in the pharmaceutical, clinical testing, anatomic pathology and surgical instrument arenas. 

David received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Science from the University of Pittsburgh. He also earned his Masters of Business Administration degree from the Katz School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh.
